Be Part of the 1 Billion Meals Initiative

The 1 Billion Meals Initiative is a follow-up to last year’s 100 Million Meals Initiative. Launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, it aims to provide food to underserved and/or vulnerable communities worldwide, while working with the World Food Program (WFP) and others for distribution of food parcels. Donate to Local Charities

Ramadan is the best time to donate your Zakat and Sadaqat to worthy causes, and the UAE has no shortage of charities to choose from such as Dubai Cares. As part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, this charity seeks to tackle poverty by providing children with much needed education. Donations received are invested towards children in need, or adopt a school. There is also Emirates Charity, a platform connecting the nation's charity organizations under one umbrella. It provides the latest technology in facilitating charities in achieving higher performance and efficiency.

Volunteer

Volunteering your time and skills are just as important as giving financial support. But, if you're wondering where to start, then look no further than with the UAE Volunteer Platform, which is giving volunteers the chance to make an impact nationwide. It is the first and largest smart, nationwide platform operating a comprehensive, proactive program of development and regulation. Head over to volunteers.ae to get started.

Get Your Company Involved

If you're a business owner, you can also help out during Ramadan through organizations such as Companies for Good. But, who are they? They're a platform helping UAE-based companies organize successful team-building activities, support their communities, protect the planet, and make their organizations more sustainable. For Ramadan, Companies for Good are giving business owners the opportunity to distribute iftar, COVID-19 kits, and food parcels to workers. Head over to companiesforgood.ae to learn more.
