Shapewear

Everyone needs shapewear no matter what their size and shape! This isn’t about trimming weight or slimming curves, shapewear helps to smooth out any lumps and bumps, especially if you’re wearing a form fitting number, and allows your garments to hug the body or skim in all the right areas. Wearing the right shape wear will allow you to create a balanced look – be it creating a slimmer waist or sliding into a body-con number.

Shoes That Elongate The Legs

They are an accessory to complete every look – but always an important one! When you’re curvy all over, and looking to wear a dress, it's imperative that you opt for a shoe or sandal that doesn’t visually cut your legs off! Avoid thick ankle straps, shoe-boots, round toe shapes, or anything too chunky – the key is to make your legs appear longer and that can be done by simply wearing a pointed court shoe or a clear sandal.

Pencil Skirts

If there is anyone that can successfully pull off a pencil skirt or dress, it’s the curvy woman! Pencil skirts and dresses elongate the body and carry the hip and butt curves in the most visually appealing way. If done correctly, the body appears proportionate and elegant.

Wide Leg Pants

A high waisted wide leg trouser in a featherweight fabric is the wardrobe savior for curves! Not only do they elongate the body, but they nip in at the waist and can be worn with pretty much anything for any occasion – from work with a pussybow blouse, with a casual tshirt and sneakers, to the evening with a glamorous top and high heels! Comfortable and classy!

Wrap Dresses

The wrap dress is an iconic shape for any body type, but for curvy bodies, it’s the one piece of clothing that creates the most balance as the wrap over style across the bust makes for a V-neck which draws the body in, the belt cinches in at the smallest part of the waist, and the rest skims over the hips and balances the shoulders with the hips. It’s the one item of clothing that exudes power, and celebrates any body shape – and has been immortalized by Diane Von Furstenburg who has made it her signature – and for very good reason!
