Rihanna Becomes the First Female to Surpass 2 Billion Streams on Apple Music

Beating the likes of Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, Rihanna is the first woman to have exceeded 2 billion streams on Apple Music.

The streaming platform shared their list of the 20 most streamed women in music for International Women’s Day last week. With Rihanna landing the top spot, she was closely followed by Taylor Swift in at number 2, Beyoncé at 3 and Adele at 5.

Delighted at her tremendous achievement, she posted on Instagram writing, “…I found out that I was the first female artist to cross 2 billion worldwide streams on Apple Music! God is too lit!”

Riri was also the second most streamed female artist on Spotify in 2017 after being beaten for the top spot by Dua Lipa; other artists included Ariana Grande and Beyoncé.
