Must-Haves: 14 Heady Date Night Perfumes

About Her picks the best 14 perfumes that add a final (and vital) impact to your 14 February date night look.

You’ve got your outfit, hair and make-up all sorted out, right down to the last nitty gritty detail, but don’t go running out the door before you spritz on a magical scent as it undoubtedly serves as the ultimate final touch to your date look.

If you think men aren’t really bothered by your perfume, think again. Scent is potent, making perfume a power player when it comes to attracting men. It’s a magnet that gets their pulses racing and their senses soaring, just like that cheeky text or plunging neckline. Our sense of smell connects directly to the part of the brain that deals with our emotions, so rationale is thrown out of the window, letting emotions reign.

What’s more, your perfume is such a personal statement, it’s a wordless story you want to tell him. In effect, you are the fragrance you choose, because like your clothes or the music on your favourites playlist, your pick of perfume says a lot about the type of woman you are. Scents can also help you carry across specific feelings, letting him know which mood you are in, so you can use them as beautiful, honest forms of self-expression. So whether you’re feeling loving, sweet, flirty, playful or just plain in the mood, these perfumes, with their variety of vibes, will help you express exactly how you’re feeling. You may even make one of them your signature scent, which will give him lots of fragrance flashbacks of all the special moments he spends with you.

Just in case you want a piece of professional proof about how your perfume can influence that special night, we turn to maestro Christian Dior, who said, “Perfume is the indispensable complement to the personality of women, the finishing touch on a dress.”
