Jw Anderson Unveiled Installation At Salone Del Mobile

JW Anderson announces Days, an installation showcasing Patrick Carroll’s artworks.

On the 17th of April 2024, JW Anderson will be showcasing Patrick Carroll’s artworks during Salone del Mobile in Milan.

The installation showcases 37 artworks that are available for purchase at the JW Anderson Milan store. Patrick Carroll makes artworks by stretching textiles he has knitted onto stretcher bars, resembling paintings. Using yarn primarily sourced from remainder shops that liquidate fashion industry leftovers, Carroll crafts compositions rich in texture, material, color, and transparency. His pieces feature a diverse array of materials, including wool, linen, silk, cashmere, and mohair, resulting in a captivating interplay of elements.

The works include text knitted onto them. About half the works in this show bear a single word, usually concepts, such as music, abnegation, pity, voices, permanence. The rest include quotes from works of literature, or refer to already extant works of art, and some feature Carroll’s own phrases.
