It is safe to say creativity, culture, history, politics of the Palestinian people are encapsulated in these fashion brands. As is perfectly stated on the website of Nöl Collective: “The hope is that our garments read like visual manuscripts, humanizing and narrating the collective labor of love behind a garment and the triumph of creativity and heritage in the face of struggle.”

These Palestinian labels conserve an ongoing legacy of political activism through fashion.

Nöl Collective

It is indeed the work of a collective that shapes this slow fashion handmade brand. A cooperative of women, family-owned businesses, artisans, seamstresses, and tailors, from different Palestinian regions, work hand in hand to create the brand’s items and essence. Everything is produced locally in Palestine, in harmony with the people and the land. It is a female lead label founded by Yasmeen Mialli who makes sure that her brand captures rooted work of local Palestinian craftsmanship and material, such as silk and cotton. Mialli even dyes fabric with natural pigments to be used in her final work. From embroidered tote bags, to trousers, to blazers, T-shirts, accessories, and more, you can really find items to your liking, as they are all so beautiful, especially knowing their backstory.
