These Arab Couturiers Are Slaying Paris Couture Week
The Middle East is home to some of Paris Couture Week’s most famed designers. A hotbed of talent, the region has produced some of the fashion world’s most iconic names including the likes of Azzedine Alaia, Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad as well as emerging labels such as Monot and Benchellal – each of whom who have dressed the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Rita Ora and Taylor Swift just to name a few!
Arab couturiers have made waves internationally, and have had legendary moments in Hollywood – like in 2002 when Halle Berry became the first black woman to win an Oscar, and accepted her award in a dress still fawned over today, by Elie Saab. It was a shade of burgundy, with a sheer bodice delicately embroidered with flowers to protect her modesty.
