Awards season is never too far away and 2023’s calendar is jam packed with important red carpet events, starting with the Golden Globes this month, the Grammys, BAFTAs and SAG awards in February, Academy Awards in March – the list is endless and of course, one of our favorite parts of these illustrious events is the red carpet glam.

Arab designers including Zuhair Murad, Elie Saab, and Georges Hobeika have been celebrity favorites at awards seasons, but 2023 might be the year to shake things up a little and opt for some emerging Arab talent when it comes to a memorable look for the next red carpet.

Frou Frou

Born in 2001, Frou Frou is one of the longest standing and illustrious Emirati fashion brands today. Founded by three sisters it had beginnings as the first silk scarf store in Dubai, which grew into producing silk and taffeta abayas, which became hugely popular with the local community. In 2018, almost 20 years later the founders of Frou Frou decided to pass the family business onto their daughters who have taken the brand to the next level, combining traditional designs with a modern aesthetic to appeal to the next generation.
