8 Of The Best Bakuchiol Alternatives To Retinol

Retinols are known for being harsh and drying in the initial stages of usage, especially for sensitive skin – so if you’ve been apprehensive about starting to use a retinoid, you might want to hold off because Bakuchiol could be just the product you need, minus the disruption to your skin.

Bakuchiol is an antioxidant usually found in the seeds of the plant Psoralea Corylifolia, and has history of being an ingredient in medicine due to its healing properties, which include soothing rashes, healing any small cuts and reducing redness. It is the perfect vegan alternative to anti-aging to achieve smooth and glowing skin.

Much like popular retinols, bakuchiol has the ability to achieve a smoother skin texture, minimize hyperpigmentation, and help to restore elasticity. Both retinol and bakuchiol work by increasing cell turnover, and this helps to stimulate collagen production, and decrease the appearance of wrinkles among other skin benefits. Due to the natural properties of bakuchiol, it is safe for people who have acne-prone or oily skin types, and is 100% safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Abouther.com have rounded up 8 of the best bakuchiol products that are just as effective, if not more, than retinol.
