Dubai & Abu Dhabi Reduce Cost Of PCR Test

Dubai’s Health Authority reduced the cost of a COVID-19 PCR test from AED370 to AED250 to make testing more accessible for people as well as encourging medical examinations to prevent the spread of the virus.

The Abu Dhabi Health Services (SEHA) also announced the price reduction of the medical test which applies to all of SEHA’s drive-through test centers across the UAE.

Pharmacy and clinic chain Aster Clinics has also announced that PCR test costs at their facilities across Ajman, Sharjah, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah are now AED299. Moreover, PCR test remain free for anyone who is suspected to have the coronavirus, as well as for those who are high risk, such as pregnant women, the elderly or chronically ill.

The UAE’s decision to reduce the costs of COVID-19 PCR tests comes after the country saw a spike in cases and have decided to work more efficiently to reduce the number of cases and protect the health of residents.

The PCR test has been vital in helping to detect and prevent the spread of the virus since the outbreak of COVID-19 in late 2019 and early 2020.

The government is urging residents to undergo the test as soon as they feel any symptoms and taking the test as soon as possible will allow for the virus to be contained and treated.
