International Day of Families: Advice For 24/7 Parenting During A Pandemic

And because no one is born a perfect parent or knows how to parent in a pandemic, remember always that you’re doing your best and seize the moment spent with loved ones.

Happy International Day of Families everyone! Celebrated since 1995, this year feels more so much more significant and remarkable to embrace and be thankful for this social unit. Whether traditional or non-traditional, many families are separated during these dire times. For the lucky ones that get to spend more time with their family, for many it means 24/7 parenting.

According to the UN, “This day provides an opportunity to promote awareness of issues relating to families and to increase the knowledge of the social, economic and demographic processes affecting families.” Amidst the pandemic, the World Health Organization in collaboration with UNICEF, End Violence Against Children, USAID, and other organizations, released a handful of important advice regarding family-bonding and parenting during COVID-19.
