KSA To Provide Iftars For 1M People In 18 Countries

In the spirit of Ramadan and in the face of the pandemic's repercussions, Saudi Arabia's King Salman just confirmed an increased fund of SR5 million (or $1.3 million) to secure meal projects in 18 countries around the world.

Food will be distributed in the Kingdom to households in need and affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. And this Ramadan, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques extended his generosity to abroad, the fund will insure that 1 million people in 18 countries receive their Iftars.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance is responsible of implementing the program in line with the coronavirus safety measures during food basket distributions.

Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Asheikh expressed gratitude to King Salman for his continuous support of the ministry's various projects in the purpose of serving Islamic works.

According to Arab News, Al Sheikh added that the religious attaches' offices in Saudi embassies and Islamic centers in the several countries will serve as the intermediary to safeguard the iftar meals under the ministry's supervision.
