The 7th Edition of Platform 09: Spreading the Message of Women Empowerment

The Fujeirah-based charity exhibition that puts out the message to the global Arab community always offers unique opportunities for women in the region…

Platform 09, which celebrated, supported and brought together 90 Arab women designers, artists and entrepreneurs, was one of the latest exciting events to showcase and empower businesswomen from the region. The occasion, which took place from January 28 to February 1 in Fujeirah’s Al Rumailah district, had Harmony, a testament to every woman’s journey to becoming her most authentic self, as the central theme. And throughout the event, the topic was incorporated into nine interactive and inspirational platforms, creating a holistic experience around culture, technology, balance, unity and more.

The free-to-attend event was held under the patronage of Sheikha Shamseh Bint Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi. daughter of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, the ruler of Fujairah.

“As an Arab, Emirati woman I have learned and been inspired by the creativity and accomplishments of the women from this region. Their success stories have given me the resources and motivation to pass this inspiration forward. The theme of our 2020 exhibition is Harmony, a concept that promises to bring inspiration to all,” Sheikha Shamseh said in a statement before Platform 09 started.

The royal also said Middle Eastern women are busy taking care of businesses, their families and travelling to explore and experience. “We live life to the fullest. We can find harmony in every aspect of our lives, if we choose to.” Plus, she touched on how important an encouraging tribe, “the women who raise us, support us and inspire us in our journey into finding our calling within our communities” is to any successful woman.

As well as browsing through the interesting works by the designers, artists and entrepreneurs, attendees were able to enjoy some delicious selections from 10 food trucks. They also took breaks to watch the five performers who provided live entertainment.
