Glitter Lips: The Perfect Trend for Your Summer Festivities
Glitter lips set the spring/summer 2017 runways alight and we think they’re the perfect trend for your celebratory events this summer, from Eid to weddings.

Pat McGrath caused quite a frenzy after featuring glitter lips at Atelier Versace’s autumn/winter show. Since then, she has become the queen of the glitter brigade, with shimmer appearing a lot in her eponymous product line. Once the SS17 presentations came around, she decorated models’ pouts with dazzling stuff once again at the DKNY show in New York. What’s more, the mesmerising trend had gathered pace and was seen in abundance in other shows as well, including Fendi’s and Maison Margiela’s.
Designers opted for varying looks, from avant-garde and sci-fi to just making your pout look a bit more dewy or fancy than usual. While working with DKNY, McGrath decked models with dark, dramatic, plum lips, topping them with dazzling golden sparkles. For Fendi, artist Peter Philips created the most striking look by sending models like Gigi and Bella Hadid and Taylor Hill down the catwalk with glistening salmon-pink puckers featuring chunky specs of glitter. Plus, at Maison Margiela, we saw statement glitter with a cyber edge, thanks to spacesuit-worthy silver, blue and purple shimmers. At Lanvin, there was just a tiny hint of glitter on the model’s lids to help widen their eyes.
