Art Lovers Attend the Third Edition of World Art Dubai

The third edition of World Art Dubai wrapped up Saturday, 15 April, after offering art collectors an exceptional chance to browse through affordable works of art from around the world.

World Art Dubai was initially founded with the premise of making art reasonably priced and accessible to all art lovers. And this year’s four-day event, which took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, gave aspiring collectors the chance to see over 3,000 paintings, prints, sculptures and photographs starting at just USD100. Over 35 international galleries representing 120 artists exhibited their work at the fair, which featured pavilions from Europe, Japan, Ukraine and the USA.

After His Highness Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum Al-Maktoum, Director-General of Dubai’s Department of Information, officially opened the event during an initiation that included a VIP Japanese Cultural Evening, art aficionados were free to roam around and enjoy the works of art. One of the event’s highlights was “Exhibition Islam,” an area focusing on artists from the Middle East. Sessions and workshops for people with special needs, as well as sessions by a host of industry insiders, artists and curators were other interesting highpoints. Guests could also benefit from the calligraphy sessions, “The Art of…” workshops and The Ripe Craft Market, where they could buy kitsch lifestyle gifts, arts, crafts and furniture as well as fashion and jewellery finds.
