Experience the Exhilarating and Everchanging Beauty of Mount Fuji Through This Photo Series

Revel in the majestic Mount Fuji, the tallest mountain in Japan, throughout the four seasons.

This photo series was taken from several locations in different setting to show the stunning natural and still-active volcano.

In one picture you can see the sun rising directly above its peak and in another a storm forming over it.

The images were taken by photographer Makoto Hashimuki, who has the luxury of living within sight of Mount Fuji, and soon became possessed by by its beauty and charm.

The 40-year-old from Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, talk about how each photo was taken at a different location and time, throughout the Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter seasons.

“I started taking photographs once I became obsessed with the mountain's charm during different seasons. After taking a photo I can feel so moved that it takes my breath away, sometimes even my hands tremble,” exclaims the photographer.

Mount Fuji stands at 3,776.24 metres high, and is one of Japan's Three Holy Mountains along with Mount Tateyama and Mount Haku.

However, the mountain hasn't always been this serene, as the last time it erupted, between 1707 and 1708, the ash fall out was so thick that it blocked out the sun in the middle of the day.
