Mama Africa: Sunrise Silhouettes Never Looked So Stunning

As the sun began to creep out in the early hours, wildlife photographer Mario Moreno set out to the Mara North Conservancy in Kenya. The journey resulted in stunning pictures that are said to look like a recreation of the opening scene of Disney film Lion King, in which the animals are seen waking up as Elton John's Circle of Life plays.

The Spanish photograpther says that the silhouette pictures are probably the most iconic images that people think of before they travel to Africa.

“But the thing with them," he continues, "is that you have to be in the right place at the right time because the animals don't stay looking this way for long. These are very special moments captured in a photograph. The colours of the sky and the silhouette of the animals against it are very intense."
