From DXB to LDN: Emirati Designers Are Making Waves

Hosting the second edition of UAE Design Stories: The Next Generation from the Emirates in London is the Dubai Design District. After much success in Milan at Salone Del Mobile in April this year, eight trailblazing Emirati artists and designers are to present their work at the London Design Fair exhibition in late September 2018.

The exhibition is curated by Khalid Shafar, who is an Emirati product designer and his focus is to highlight the UAE’s homegrown talents. The participants include interior designers Alia Mazrooei and Roudha Al Shamsi, sculpture artist, Azza Al Qubaisi, architect, Abdalla Al Mulla, 2017 DDFC/Vogue Arabia Fashion Prize accessories design finalist, Alia bin Omair, and Bedouin Emirati artist, Ahmad Al Areef.

The designers will each create exclusive pieces for the London exhibit which will then travel to Paris as part of the UAE-France Cultural Dialogue program before setting up in Dubai’s Design Week in November 2018.
