2017 Eye Makeup Trends

Following M.A.C’s ‘Beautiful but Damned’ seasonal theme, eyes call for a bit of grunge-DIY meets refined, extreme elegance. Black is the 2017 eye makeup colour of choice and you’re encouraged to get creative with smudged kohl and heavily pigmented carbon shadow.

How to Wear Big 2017 Eye Makeup Trends
Combine shades of rust and burgundy into your smokey eye for a pop of colour. Channel your inner rock-chick by messily sweeping a smudge of liner along the bottom of the eyes for a ‘slept-in’ look. Then again, if you’d prefer to opt for this trend’s more refined twin, draw a perfect, liquid line along the top of the lashes and finish the look with a classic feline flick. Make-up artists let their creativity run wild backstage at AW16 shows including Kenzo, Oscar de la Renta and Giamba with graphic liner adding an interesting twist to an otherwise classic look. While some designers including Christian Dior used spidery, twiggy-inspired eyelashes to complete their models’ faces, lashes are fluttery and feminine for day and night in the season ahead.
